The designs are for the Nike Griffey 2 and Nike Alpha Huarache cleats.  Each cleat was limited to only 12 pairs.  MAWI worked directly with Nike to create the colorways for each cleat during Randy's tenure with the Tampa Bay Rays.  Despite being traded to the Seattle Mariners at the 2024 All-Star break, his cleats didn't need any adjustments.  We designed each colorway to be adaptable to any team's jersey kit and MLB player trend.
Nike Grif
The Nike Griffey 2 colorway was inspired by loud and impactful storytelling, in this case, in the soda market. The Volt green and vibrant yellow draw direct inspiration from Sprite's iconic can design.  They make a statement when seen on the field with the stadium lights only accentuating the bold colors.
The Nike Alpha Huarache colorway was designed with a more personal connection to Randy in mind. When he defected from Cuba he was welcomed with open arms to Mexico and emerged as one of the MLB's top superstars while playing for Team Mexico during the 2023 World Baseball Classic.  The cleats feature a gradient map of all of the colors featured on the Mexican flag, the sample colors that were also used in the color palette for the Randy Arozarena International Foundation.
